Exposure Visit to CSIR–IMMT, Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, September 26, 2026: Students of 4th Year and 2nd Year Mechanical Engineering, Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) visited the CSIR–Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR–IMMT), Bhubaneswar, on the occasion of its Foundation Day on 26th September 2026.
The exposure visit was flagged off by Dr. S. N. Pattnaik, Dean; Dr. P. S. Khuntia, Principal; and Dr. C. Mishra, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, KIST. The visit was organized with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to advanced research, technologies, and applications in areas including materials science, mineral processing, manufacturing, and engineering innovation.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to interact with scientists and researchers and gain valuable insights into ongoing research activities and the state-of-the-art facilities at CSIR–IMMT.
The visit provided an effective platform for students to connect their classroom learning with real-world research and industrial applications, helping them understand the practical implementation of engineering concepts.
The exposure visit also encouraged students to develop greater interest in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies, making the Foundation Day visit an enriching and memorable learning experience.
