Two-Day Skill Development Outreach Program Conducted at KIST in Association with CSIR-IMMT
Bhubaneswar, September 25, 2026: A two-day Skill Development Outreach Program (SDP) was successfully conducted at the Konark Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) campus from 24th to 25th September 2026, in association with CSIR–Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT), Bhubaneswar.
The programme, organized under the Integrated Skill Initiative, was titled “Boosting Entrepreneurship from Science & Technology – IP Interface (BEST IP)”. KIST served as the Program Associate for the two-day programme.
The SDP focused on developing awareness and understanding of Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), intellectual property and technology development, technology readiness and related concepts, as well as the exploitation of intellectual property through technology licensing and transfer. The programme also covered the pathway from idea to innovation, innovation to intellectual property, and impact to income.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. T. Pavan Kumar, Principal Scientist, CSIR-IMMT, as the IMMT Coordinator, and Dr. Chandrakanta Mishra, Associate Professor, KIST, as the KIST Coordinator.
The two-day SDP provided participants with exposure to the importance of intellectual property, technology development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, helping bridge the gap between scientific and technological ideas and their potential application and commercialization.
The successful organization of the programme at KIST further strengthened the academic and professional collaboration between KIST and CSIR-IMMT, creating opportunities for continued skill development, knowledge exchange, innovation, and research-oriented activities.
